EXPLOSION AND FIRE
SYDNEY, October 25.
An explosion, the origin of which is unknown, heralded a fire at the Federal Furnishing Coy’s premises in the suburb of Leichardt, early this morning. The spectacular blaze was watched by thousands. The building was destroyed. The damage is estimated at £25.000.

Premier McPhee assured the Members of the Assembly that the office of Tasmania’s Agent General in London, at present filled by Mr Darcy Addison, will not be continued after the term of the present occupant' expires next March.
