The second semi-final of the Wellington Inter-Club Amateur Billiards Championship, H. Shanks holder (Workingmen’s Club), beat S. Simpson (G.P.0.) by 300 to 197. Shanks and A. Wakem (Federal) meet in the final to-morrow night.

The Patea-Hawera Coursing Club's New Zealand Waterloo Cup meeting continued at Whenuakura to-day. when the Cup third round was completed. The finals will be rim tomorrow. Cup results: —Third round: Again Terminus beat Joan’s Delight. Cashbox beat Emerald Isle; Ace of Spades beat Golliwog: Dusky Gem beat Kia. Ora; Rin Tin Tin beat Our Jack; Beau Geste boat Irish Exile; Diamond Blot beat Nettle.

A message- from Hamilton, Ontario, states: The Austialian and New Zealand teams for the Empire Games, arrived to-day, and were- given a civic reception by the Mayor, Mr Peebles.
Arthur Eastwood, cox of the- New Zealand eight, is suffering from illness believed to have been caused by change of climate, but he is expected to be out of hospital soon.
