BURMESE RIOTS

STORIES OF HORROR.

[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.]

(Received July 25,-11 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 25.

Stories of days of horror during the Burma riots were related by Mrs. N. Freeman on her arrival from Rangoon. Once four natives were caught by a'n infuriated mob near her husband’s house, and dismembered before her eyes. The attackers used long cane knives. They cut off the victims’ arms, to prevent retaliation in the next world. Another practice was to amputate every finger, and arrange them in a circle, around the corpse. The Freemans entertained Kingsford Smith, Ulrn, Chicester and Amy Johnson.
