CANADIAN ELECTIONS
PROSPECTS FAVOUR OPPOSITION [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] (Recd. July 25, S a.m.) VANCOUVER, July 24. The Australian-New Zealand trade agreements figure largely in the election which occurs next Monday. Premier King is espousing a policy of In-ter-Empire trade and Imperial • preference with great vigour. The result of the election is very much in doubt. Undoubtedly there is a slump towards the Conservatives against Liberals in the other provinces of Canada, and altogether it appears that Quebec will hold the balance of power. It can be stated that whichever side wins, new and beter treaties will. probably be attempted with ?both the Antipodean Dominions, whose trade all classes 'of businessmen, whether Liberal or Conservative, are very anxious to maintain.
