At Detroit (Michigan) Gerald Buckley, radio political commentator, was assassinated by a trio of gunmen, shortly after announcing that the voters had removed from office the Mayor, Charles Bowles, who was charged with gang alliances. His slaying, which is the climax of three weeks’ gangster killings, has precipitated an extensive drive against the underworld.
