COAL CO-OPERATION
[to the editor.] Sir, —Please allow me a little space to reply to Mr. C. H. Rose under a letter headed Coal “Co-operation.” In September 1928, most of the Coop. parties in the Grey district were organised into a union called “The Grey District Co-operative Coal Miners’ Union.” Mr. R. Spencer, who was secretary of the organisation at that time, received the following in reply to a letter he sent to the secretary of the Bellvue Co-op. Party. “At a recent meeting the above party resolved not to take any action with regard to the proposed co-operative miners’ association. Yours faithfully, C. H. Rose, Secretary.” . No doubt his party, or any other party, can join up now with the organisation, if they can, or will, comply with the rules laid down as to membership etc., —Yours faithfully, J. DUGGAN, Secretary, The Grey District Cooperative Coal Miners’ Union.
