The Bishop of Winchester and also Doctor Woods, an old friend of the family, also hade them farewell aboard the liner “Rangitiki.” AUST.’S GOVERNOR-GENERAL. LONDON, February 15. A writer in the “Star’ says: The appointment of Lord Stonehaven’s successor in Australia as Governor-Gen-eral is causing some concern to Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, who would like to send out a Labour Party supporter, but the difficulty is that the salary of £lO,OOO a year hardly covers half of the expenditure that is found necessary by the holder of the position.
