When O’Connor and Levy went to the wickets, Queensland required to get 183 runs to win, in 180 minutes. The start was disastrous, O’Connor going at five, and Levy going at 13. Gough, however, bated vigorously in a solid partnership with Rowe. Both were lucky in being dropped several times. The M.C.C. keeper, Benson, was struck on the face by a ball from Nichols, and he retired, Duleepsinhji keeping the wickets. \ With 100 up, Gough and Rowe hit put, playing bright cricket: There was an- exciting finish, with thirty minutes to play and thirty runs wanted.
