(Per Prose Association.) GIRL MISSING. ASHBURTON, October 11. A continued search has failed to reveal the whereabouts of Margaret Menzies, a seventeen-year-old girl, who was last seen by a girl friend when she bade her good night at Menzies’ employers’ gate at 9.15 p.m. on Sunday, September 29. The grl is of strong build, sft sin in height, pale complexion, full face, fair hair, blue eyes, and looks more than her age. FALL OVER CLIFF. HAWERA, October 11. At the inquest this afternoon on Charles Richard Kelly, widower, aged 66 years, whose body was found at Shawe Beach on Monday morning at the foot of a 200 ft cliff, the Coroner’s verdict was that death resulted from heart failure, caused by a fall down the cliff, but that the evidence was insufficient to indicate whether the fall was purely accidental, though it tended in that direction. A YOUNG WASTER. WELLINGTON, October 12. After prevailing upon a girl of 16 to draw her savings from the Post Office, Lester John Gordon Humphries, 19, left Nelson in company with her for Wellington. On the trip over, the girl stole some money belonging to another passenger and was charged at the Juvenile Court this morning, and Humphries with vagrancy. Sub-Inspector Lander said that Humphries twice came under notice of the Child Welfare Department. Mr Page, S.M., sent him to the Weraroa training farm. CYCLIST INJURED. ' CHRISTCHURCH, October 11? J. F. Melvin, aged 22, is in Christchurch Plospital with a fractured right leg, and cuts on the hands and face, as the result of the collision of his motor cycle with a motor truck on the Main South Road near Templeton this afternoon. . Melvin is suffering from shock, and his general condition is reported as fairly serious. A motor car with a punctured tyre, was drawn up on the side of the road, and the collissidn occurred when the truck and the motor cycle both swerved to avoid it.
