Mr. McLeod, Manager of the All Blacks, has cabled: “Impracticable for team to play match with Maoris at Auckland, owing to the heavy casualties.” An endeavour is now being made to arrange a match Maoris versus. Auckland. OBSTRUCTION ALLEGED. SYDNEY, July 30. Mr. McLeod, outlining the impression of -the tour at the Council meeting of the N.S.W. Rugby Union, said that Australian Rugby had improved, and the present New Zealand team was not one whit inferior to past Dominion combinations. The Manager added that the game could not be played more cleanly in Australia, but he, struck a disconcerting note, when he expressed the opinion that obstruction in various positions, such as line-outs, was specialised business here. He assured the delegates that if the system were tolerated, the Australians would receive harsh treatment from New Zealand referees.
