MOUAT-WRIGHT SUSPENSIONS.

Mr J. D. Winghaip, president of th© West Coast Rugby League Centre, left for Auckland to-day to attend the an-’ ilual meeting of the New Zeala'nd’ League' Council on Saturday. , Acting upon advice received yesterday afternoon, lie secured' signe'd applications by Neil Mouat and J. Wright for reinstatement and fQnioval of the disqualifications imposed upon them after (he, tour to. England of the 1926 All Diacks, of which team they were members. This will, enable the, matter, to be' discussed at the meting, and hopes are entertained by Mr Wingham that the efforts of the West Coast Centre to have; the disqualifications removed will be successful on this occasion; STATEMENT BY MOUAT.

; Speaking to a “Star” reporter this morning, Mr Neil Mouat stated that he. agreed to sign the application for reinstatement, which Mr . J. D. Wingham has taken, with him to the annual meeting- of the New Zealand Rugby- ■ League Council, because it might lead to the subject of the 1926 tour to England being discussed again. If an en- ; quiry were decided upon, Mt Mouat declared that he would 1 be prepared) at his own' expense’ to go to Auckland and give evidence concerning tlie' causes of the dissension which resultedin Singe (Auckland), Devine (Timaru), Peterson and F. Henry (Christchurch), Carroll (Wellington) and J. Wright and Mouat being disqualified for life. Mr Mouat declared that none of those seven had z been given a chance to answer charges, and that a report by the English League upon the tour ot the team had never been madfe. public., Mr Mouat further stated that the real reasons for the dissension with the; manager, the disqualified players had; so far kept to themselves. If the Nevt Zealand Council would,conduct an injuiry the facts would be submitted. Asked if he would play again- if re*, instated,Mr Mouat said that he would do so for one season.
