MISSING FISHERMEN

A BLUFF TRAGEDY FEARED.

INVERCARGILL, March 23. It is reported from Bluff that it must be accepted as a fact that tragedy has overtaken the crew of the missing fishing vessel the “Twilight.” It-is a month since the vessel was last seen, and it is learnt that she was out for a tliree-day cruise only. Exhaustive searches have been cairied out by vessels eastward a*nd westward of Fouveaux Strait, one vessel having gone as far as Dusky Sound; whilst all the outlying island round about Stewart Island have been visited in the hope that the men may have reached land. The crew comprised: —William Hanning (Master); J. Stewart and C. Traill. Hanning was a thoroughly experienced man, having spent practically all his life in the fishing industry about Bluff and Stewart Island.
