BLACKBALL TRAGEDY
MINER FATALLY INJURED.
Mystery surrounds what actually happened in a tragedy which happened this morning in the Blackball Mine. Andrew Watkinson, aged 62 years, who had been in the district for several years, was found lying on the rope road at the mine. He was seriously injured and unconscious, and he died this afternoon without recovering consciousness. Other men were working nearby, but nobody saw what actually happened. An inquest will take place. Deceased was married, but had no family.
