COBDEN FIRE BRIGADE
PENHALLURIACH CUP The annual competition for the Penhalluriach Cup was run off last week end. • Competition was keen, seven teams competing, and some fast times were made. Mr. W. Jackson acted as starter and Messrs F. Eggling (Hokitika) and P. Roche acted as judges while Messrs W. S. and W. Clark were time-keepers. The following were the results: — No. 4 Team, —Capt. Gilmour, Firemen Schultz and Lind 43 1-5 sec., 1. No. 6 Team —Firemen Baird, Allen and H. Lindbom 47 4-5 secs. 2. No. 1 Team —Fireman G. Anderson, Harding and Lindbom 48 2-5 secs., 3. No. 2 Team —Sec. Anderson, Firemen McGuigan and J. Brailsford 50 4-5 secs. 4. No. 7 Teafn —Foreman Hornsby, Firemen Marley and Lindbom 54 4-5 secs. 5. No. 3 Team —Lt. Skeats, Foreman W. Jackson, Fireman E. Brailsford, 56 secs. 6. No. 5 Team —Firemen Sweetman, Manson, J. Brailsford, 57 4-5 secs. 7.
