(Our Own Correspondents
REEFTON, March 25. Mr F. W. R. Godden, accompanied by Mrs Godden and family, leave here to-morrow on a trip to Victoria and the West Australian goldfields, and expect to be absent about ten weeks. Mr Godden proposes to settle in G-rey mouth on his return to New Zealand, where he will act as the New Zealand, representative of an Australian mining syndicate. During Mr Godden’s stay here he has associated himself with the majority of sporting bodies in the district, and his departure will be a distinct loss to the town and district, as he was was ever ready in any movement t ohelp the place along. Dr W. A. Conlon returned from Christchurch on Saturday night. L. Kremmer, who was injured at the Inglewood Mine last week, is making excellent progress towards recovery. At a meeting of the committee of the A. and P. Association at Mr Walsleben’s house on Frinday night, a report on the Show disclosed that there will be a credit balance, a result which is highly satisfactory to the promoters.
