TOURS IN NEW ZEALAND. WELLINGTON, February 12. Mr P. B. Broad. Chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association, commenting on Mailey’s suggestion that an Australian team should tour New Zealand early next season, prior to going to England, said it would be an excellent thing if the tour could be carried out. An invitation had been forwarded to send an English team to New Zealand, and if that eventuated, he doubted if we could take an Australian team as well. If the tour applied to 1931, it might have been possible and would be an excellent thing for both Australia and New Zealand. However, it was a matter for' the New Zealand Council to decide. EASTER ATTRACTION. WELLINGTON, February 12. The Wellington Cricket Association last night decided to invite Auckland to play a special representative match with Wellington at Wellington during Easter. This ts to meet the wish of local cricketers who feel that more big matches are wanted, especially in view of the proposed visit of the English team next season.
The Association also lias in view the fact that Chapman and Bettington will be in New Zealand at that time.
