WEST COAST TOURNAMENT. The annual tournament of the West Coast Centre was continued yesterday afternoon, some keen contests and interesting play being witnessed. Morning and afternoon tea was supervised by Mesdames T. Brebner, J. Crooks, and M. J. Phillips, and was greatly appreciated by the visitors. CENTRE’S ANNUAL MEETING (Our Own Correspondent.) HOKITIKA, February 12. The annual meeting of the West Coast Bowling Centre was held last evening in the County Chambers, Hokitika. The following delegates were present: Messrs J. Ring (President, Greymouth), P. Struthers (Westport), A. E. Benjamin (Hokitika), J. Leach (Runanga), Captain Tulloch (Reefton), A. A. Adams (Acting Secretary). Mr. Struthers also represented the Millerton club. Air. R. Hardy of the new-ly-formed Sergeant’s Hill Club was present by courtesy of the Centre. Before proceeding with the business of the meeting, the retiring President (Mr. Ring), welcomed the delegates and spoke of the great progress bowling had made on the West Coast in recent years. He expressed his regret at the loss sustained by Coast clubs in the death during the past year, of Messrs Kettle, Irvine, and Groom (Greymouth), AA r . Williams (AVestport), and Webb (Runanga). The delegates present rose to express their sympathy with the relatives. The balance sheet which showed a credit balance of £22 Ils (>d, -was received and adopted. The election of officers resulted: President. Air. J. Ring, secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. A. Adams, auditor, Air. F. H. Kilgour. Air. Benjamin (Hokitika) in proposing Air. Ring as President spoke in praise of his line services to the game which had been greatly appreciated by the Hokitika club. Air. Struthers (Westport), in seconding, stated that the AA 7 estport club also appreciated his efforts and had every confidence in Air Ring as President. Air. Ring returned thanks for his election.

In re-electing Mr. F. H. Kilgour as auditor, it was decided to place on record, appreciation of his past services to the Centro. It was arranged that the application for affiliation of Sergeant’s Hill club be accepted and forwarded to N.Z.B.A. for approval. Resolved that consideration of the

interchange of visits between Canter-, bury and West Coast Centre be deferred, and that the Reefton club be informed that they are advised on all occasions when official advice is received by Centre re visits from touring teams. An application from Reefton club for 1931 tournament was received and noted. Mr. Struthers on behalf of Westport club offered Westport green for 1930 tournament. —Resolved that offer be accepted and that the tournament commence on the second Monday in February, the committee foi’ tournament to consist of three members from Westport club and one delegate- from each affiliated club. The levy for annual tournament was agreed. A remit from Greymouth club protesting against the change of date of annual meeting was received, and on motion of Mr. Benjamin seconded by Mr. Struthers, it was resolved that, consideration be deferred to next annual meeting.

Mr. Benjamin reported on the arrangements for the tournament now in progress, which were approved. On the motion of Mr. Struthers seconded by Mr. Leach, it was decided that the Hokitika and Greymouth clubs be thanked for the arrangements made for the tournament and overflow.
