COOK STRAIT SWIM.
MISS COPPLESTONE’S ATTEMPT.

CHRISTCHURCH, January 26. Miss Lily Coppiestone will travel overland from Ashburton to Picton on Tuesday or Wednesday next. She will await there a favourable opportunity to set out on her swim across Cook Strait. Mr. W. Thoms, of Te Awaite, of a well-known whaling family, will accompany Miss Coppiestone in a dinghy, and will be her chief adviser. Miss Coppiestone probably will try but a number of starting points, and will be guided by those in her ultimate choice.
