REEFTON NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, November 13. Mr O. H. Tringham, chairman of directors of the Reefton Coal Company, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs Hudson, and daughter-in-law, and by the Secretary of the Coal Company, Mr Bruce, arrived in Reefton on Saturday evening. Mr Tringham returns to Wellington to-day, but Mr Bruce will remain in Reefton for a few days. Private advice was deceived at Reefton yesterday of the death at Richmond of Mr J. C. Johnston, late forest ranger at Reefton. Deceased left Reeftin about eighteen months ago for Nelson, and was married only a short time before.

For the . last two mornings Reefton has experienced light frosts, but so far no damage to gardens is reported. On Saturday and Sunday the Paparoas were snow-covered, and a snowfall was reported at Merrijigs.
