The weather is fine and the track in excellent order for the opening day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s Meeting. The attendance is good. Following are the results: —

Also started —Jovial. Won by four lengths, with a head between second and third. Time 3.16 1-5 —a track record.
MAUNGATUA HANDICAP, 7 furlongs— (4) Phastar (Powell) .. .. 1 (5) First Raid .. .. 2 (6) Amourette ... .. 3 Scr.—Royal Flower. Won by half a length, with three lengths between second and' third. Time 1-.29 3-5.
TRIAL STAKES, 6 furlongs.— Pound Note .. .. 1 Starshooter .. .. 2 Waving Corn .. .. .. 3 Scr. —Amourette. The winner was coupled with Wine Tray.
McLEAN STAKES, 5 furlongs.— Aspiring . . .. 1. Francolin . . .. .. 2 All started.
