WIRELESS HOAX.
BERLIN, October 8,
Karl Schulz, responsible for Saturday’s broadcast hoax, was assaulted to-day in an. underground train by a journalist, a colleague of Schwartz, who struck Shulz in the face. A wrestling match ensued in the crowded carriage. The police were unable to take action against Schulz, who enjoys a Parliamentary Deputy’s immunity.

A message from Paris asserts that •M. Painleve (War Minister) confirms the recent interview regarding the fortification of the Italian frontier, with the exception of the phrase “gun for gun,’’ which was inadvertently attributed to him.
PRINCESS MARY’S TOUR.
LONDON, Octobet 8.
Accompanied by Father Joyce, Catholic Vicar-General, Princess Mary and Lord Lascelles toured Portumna. They were acclaimed by the residents within a hundred miles radius. They met a cowman, John Wallace, whose family had served the estate for three generations. Wallace was dismissed, although acquitted after shots were fired at the agent during the disturbances. Lord Lascelles promised him a, pension. He intends to rebuild Portumna Castle for his elder son.
