RIFLE SHOOTING.

SYDNEY, October 8

The Anzac rifle camp was roughly handed by the cyclone yesterday, but shooting was resumed this morning, with matches counting for the King’s trophy. In the Mark Foy match (five hundred yards) O’Donnell (Junee) and Eatson (Melbourne) tied, both scoring the possible, and O’Donnell won on the shoot off.

In the Le Maitre match (six hundred yards) Cole (Waverley), Pinwick (Muswell Brook), E. M. Vennell (Masterson, New Zealand), Spencer (Mores) and Harris (Newcastle) each scored forty-nine. Vennell took 110.

The Dangar Match, 700yds, was won by Hughes (Randwick) 49. The runnerup was Bellinger (Victoria) 48.Vennell was thirteenth, 47. He took 40/. CAMERONS CRICKET CLUB. At a meeting held at Camerons it was decided to form a cricket club. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— Patron : T. E. Y. Seddon, M.P. President: A. Robinson.

Vice-presidents: Messrs W. T. Ogilvie, A. Bruhn, P. Thorpy, J. McFarlane, J. Dore, G. Burger, F. Costello, T. Kiely, W. Brown. Treasurer: F. Wilson. Secretary: A. R. McConnon.

It was resolved to enter a team in the junior competition this season. The subscription fee was fixed at 10/for the season. HOKITIKA CLUB. A Club has been formed at Hokitika, with the object of fostering amateur boxing and gymnastics. The following officers have been elected: —Patron, H. M. Coulson; President, F. McGregor; Vice-President, J. J. Breeze sen.; Secretary E. M. Best; Treasurer, F. Ballinger; Committee. R. Furness, J. Turner, D. Dowell, E. W. Heenan, J. Rutland., Gymnasium instructor, R. Furness.

It has been decided to name ilie Club the Hokitika Amateur Boxing and Gymnastic Club.
