WEDDING

LLOYD —FREDRIC.

A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Paul’s Church, Christchurch, at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, when Janie Isabel, only daughter of Mr J. A. and the late Mrs Frednc, of Cobden, was married to David Rees, (bailiff at the Greymouth Court), only son of Mrs and the late Mr J. RLloyd, of Christchurch. The Rev. W. Bower-Black jofficiated. The church was beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride with spring flowers and pale pink and mauve coloured bows of art paper. The organist, Mr Raynor White, played the Wedding March as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing a charming frock of pale pink georgette with pouched bodice finished with pretty posie of orange blossom and long sleeves, the skirt showing a deep uneven hem. Her embroidered veil of pale pink tulle was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom and silver leaves. She, carried a choice shower bouquet of anemones, freezias and chrysanthemums, with maidenhair fern and pale pink streamers weighted with orange blossom. She was given aw’ay by her father. The bridesmaids were Miss Kathleen McNabb and Miss Ivy Lloyd. They each wore pretty dresses of mauve coloured crepe-de-chine of early Victorian style, with a. coronet of silver leaves completed with p6arl ornaments. As the bride was descending the steps leading from the church she was met by two little nephews, Billy Ndave and Keith Fredric, who each presented her with a silver horse-shoe suspended on pink satin ribbon. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Frank Thompson as best man. Guests were later entertained at the Silver Service, Ritz., where Mrs R. V.- Fredric received them. She wore a frock of figured silk made in cross-over style, with a red fox fur and silk straw hat trimmed with a posie of primroses. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in black silk marocain trimmed with radium lace vest and wore a black fox fur and smart toque to match. She carried n posie of choice spring flowers. The breakfast room was tastily decorated with pink and lavender coloured flowers.

Later Mr and Mrs I). TL Lloyd left by motor on their wedding tour of the South Island, the bride travelling in a smart lavender fawn costume with close fitting vieux rose model hat. •
