REEFTON, August 25.
At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Reefton before Mr. Meldrum S. the following civil cases, were dealt with:—J. Wills & Co. Ltd., v. T. F. Richards, claim £3/11/9. Judgment for plaintiff for £2/19/3, costs 17/-. • J. W. Chalk v. David Osborne, claim £B/0/6. Judgment for plaintiff by default for amount of claim, costs £1 14/6. John Fielding v. William Farrell, claim £6. Judgment for plaintiff by default for amount of claim, costs £l/ 0/6.
A sitting of the Warden’s Court was held before Mr. Meldrum, Warden. Receiver of Gold Revenue v. The Boatman’s Consolidated Gold Mines Limited (in liquidation). Claim £B5 arrears of rents on certain mining privileges and cancellation of the titles. Judgment for plaintiff for £24/ 5/0 and forfeiture of special quartz claim license No. 3629 decre’ed. Applications: Martha Collins for a residence site license over 2 roods at Waiuta. —Granted. Louisa Annie Bray for a residence site license over 1 acre at Crushington. —Granted subject to certain conditions agreed upon. Reddale Collieries Ltd., (in liquidation) for (1) a tramway license; (2) a way-leave and (3) a special site license, all situate in Blk. X. Reefton S.D. Objected to by the executors and trustees of the estate of George Lishman deceased and Isaac Patterson. After hearing legal argument the cases were adjourned till September 6, to see if the parties could arrive at a satisfactory settlement in the meantime. Otherwise the Inspectoi’ of Mines to be requested to furnish a report .on the objections raised.
