Mrs R. A. Rose left this morning on a holiday visit to Waimate.
- Miss M. Noonan left this morning on holiday to Wellington.
Mrs and Miss Meade of South Beach left by to-day’s express for Auckland en route to South Africa.
Mrs N. Arnold, accompanied by Miss Duncan left for Wellington this morning.
Mrs W. P. McCarthy, who has been visiting Christchurch, will return this afternoon.
Miss Matson, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs Cocks, the Vicarage, Kumara.
Mr P. Kane, accountant at the Greymouth branch of the Bank of New Zealand,.and Mrs Kane, left this morning on a visit to Dunedin.
Mrs D. S. Kerr, who has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs T. Clarke, Shakespeare Street, returned to-day to Lyttelton.
Guests at Revington’s Hotel include: Messrs Applegarth; A. J. Daly, Betts, Weldon (Christchurch), Hill, Hunt (Wellington)-, Balflour (Westport), Thompson (Dunedin).
Messrs. H. Temple White (Adjudicator in the Musical sections of the forthcoming West Coast Competitions) and Clement May (Adjudicator in the Elocutionary sections), will arrive this afternoon from Wellington.
Recent arrivals at the Albion Hotel include: Miss P. Smith (Otira), Messrs A. Khouri, W. Bowyer, H. Mathias, C. W. Morrison (Wellington), A. F. Richter, Bowden, R. C. Webb, A. H. Rudd, V. White-Parsons, C. England, J. McNair, T. M. Gibbs, Adams (2), J. Hayward (Christchurch).
Mesdames F. M. Dennehy (President)' and Denton (Secretary of the Greymouth Branch of the Plunket Society), H. L. Michel (President Hokitika Branch), T. King (President Runanga Branch), left this morning for Wellington, where they will represent the West Coast branches, at the biennial Conference of the Society, which opens next week.
The death occurred yesterday of Mr Richard Seddon, eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs Wm. Cunliffe, of Marsden Road, at his residence Fitzherbert Street’, Petone, after a short illness. He leaves five sisters, Mr Gus. Schaef (Greymouth), Mrs H. D. Edwards (Hataitai), Mrs West (Hataitai), Mrs S. P. Eddy (Milton), and Miss Cunliffe of the Greymouth Library, and two brothers, Tom Cunliffe (Greymouth), and Wm. Cunliffe, Railway Department, Bluff. Deceased was 64 years of age, and served his time as a printer with “The Greymouth Star”'Co. He leaves a widow, one son and one daughter. He was keenly interested in the Druids’ and was the promoter of Druidism in Petone and for many years president of the Working Men’s Club there.
