The jury of the Supreme Court awarded £1.19!) damages to an Italian gardener, Bernardo Quadrio, for injuries received when he was knocked off a bicycle by Martyn Baden Powell Rosie, the local Registrar of Pensions. The defendant was turning a corner at. the time of the accident. He pleaded that he allowed plaintiff plenty of room. He said his attention was engrossed in endeavouring to avoid children who were crossing the road. The evidence showed that Quadrio is about one-third incapacitated and that permanently.
