In the fifth round, Tulloch beat Cant 2/1; McCullum beat Torrance 7/6; Dickson beat Mellor at. the nineteenth hole; Perkins beat Rankin one up; Pease beat Ellion at the twentieth hole; Wethered beat McKinley one up; Lang beat Bourne 4/3; and Tipping beat Henderson 3/2.
