Mr S. Sanery, who has been visiting friends in Runanga, returned tbN day to Wellington.

Mr A. L. Gray, who has been visiting the West Coast, returned to-day to Christchurch.

Messrs A. E. Laing and C. Douglas, .who have been visiting the Glaciers, returned to-day to Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs P. Miller, who have been spending a holiday on the West Coast, returned to-day to Invercargill.

Mr and Mrs Colin McDonald, who have been visiting relatives in Greymouth, returned to-day to Christchurch.

Mi* F. Tomlinson, who has been visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs S. F. Tomlinson, returned to-day to Wellington.

Mesdames F. Hill and T. Currie (Runanga), left this morning for Wellington, whither they have been called owing to the illness of their sister.

Mr Arthur Bignell, Chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board, who has been visiting Greymouth, will return on Monday morning.

The Commissioner of Rural Intermediate Credit (Mr J. W. Macdonald) .announces that the Governor-General has appointed Mr J. Snell, M.A., L.L.8., at present Controller of the mortgage division of the Public Trust Office (Wellington) to be Deputy Commissioner of Rural Intermediate Credit. — Press Assn.

Brigadier Wallace, the Divisional Commander, of the Salvation Army for Canterbury and Westland, is visiting the Coast this week-end, accompanied by Mrs Wallace. He will inspect the Army’s operations in Greymouth and Hokitika, and this week-end is to conduct the Harvest Festival Services in the local Salvation Army Hall. During theiF stay in Greymouth they will be the guests of Adjutant and Mrs Green.
