PHASES OF THE MOON. JULY, 1927.

THE SUN. The sun sets to-day at 4.47 p.m.; rises to-morrow at 7.27 a.m. WEATHER REPORT. Taken at Greymouth at 9 a.m. today—Wind, east; barometer, 29.98; thermometer, 37; tides, moderate, moderate sea. AT OTHER CENTRES. Arthur’s Pass was the coldest place in the Dominion at 9 o’clock this morning, the thermometer there registering 27pts., or five degrees of frost. There was no wind. One degree of frost was registered at Wellington, where a light westerly wind was blowing. Other centres reported as follow: — Wanganui: Light north-east wind, blue sky, thermometer 48; Westport: Light south-east wind, blue sky, thermometer 40; Christchurch: Light westerly wind, blue sky, thermometer 40; Christchurch: Light westerly wind, blue sky, thermometer 46; Dunedin: Calm, overcast, thermometer 44; Bluff: Westerly breeze, overcast, thermometer 45.

WEATHER FORECAST. “The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, but easterly moderate to strong prevailing shortly. The weather will probably become cool and changeable, but cloudy to overcast at times. Barometer unsteady, but has a rising tendency again after about 24 hours. Sea and tides moderate.”
