REWANUI NOTES

(Our Own UorrespoiHlent.) On Saturday last (he Sunday School children were entertained to tea in the Miners’ Hall, on the invitation of Mesdames E.Docherty and E. J. Pearson. All enjoyed a hearty spread, which was followed by singing and games. Later, Mr and Mrs T. Marsh entertained on the piano. Several residents also contributed plates, apples, etc. The whist drives appear to . be as popular as ever. .The winners on Wednesday* were: Ladies, Mrs E. Pearson: Gents, Mr G. Biggs. A whist drive and dance held last njght was well attended, Mr G. Gloss took the gent’s prize and Miss M. Closs the ladies. Mr Smithson was M.C. for the Whist drive, and Mr C. Hilton for the dance. The music was ably supplied by' Mr Joe Tickle.
