SHIPPING NOTES. The Kaimai is due from Wellington on Wednesday to load coal and timber for Wellington. The Kaituna left Dunedin on Thursday for Greymouth direct, arriving yesterday. She loads coal and sails to-morrow. The Kamona is due from Wellington on Friday, and will load coal and timber for Wellington. The Poolta is due from New Plymouth on Wednesday, and will load a full cargo of timber for Sydney, and Brisbane. The Ihumata is due from Wanganui to-night to toad a full cargo-of timber for Melbourne and Sydney. The Kaitoa sailed on Saturday evening for Nelson, with a full cargo of cargo. The Titoki sailed on Saturday afternoon for Wanganui with a full cargo of coal. The Alexander leaves Wellington to-day for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth with general cargo. The Orepuki leaves Lyttelton to-day for Wellington, Nelson and Westport with general cargo. The Kaitoa leaves Onehunga on Thursday for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth, with general cargo. NORTHUMBERLAND SALVAGE. GISBORNE, June 18. An amicable settlement has been reached in the dispute between the Gisborne Harbour Board and the New Zealand Shipping Company over the salvage of the liner Northumberland. The Board has agreed to accept the Company’s cheque for £Bl9l in full settlement of its claims, both on its own behalf and for its employees. The settlement was reached as the result of the Board agreeing to withdraw its claim for £2OOO for the time lost in the prosecution of the Harbour Works while its plant was diverted to the assistance of the Northumberland and for £7OO establishment charge.
