Miss N. Storie (Runanga) left for Christchurch this morning.

Mrs W. Falvey who has been on a short visit to Greymouth, returned to Christchurch by the express to-day.

Mr F. C. Fuller, of Christchurch, who has been visiting Greymouth, returned this morning.

The death is announced from London of Colonel Robert Owen, who in the war, was the Commander of the Third Australian Battalion.

Mr and Mrs W. P. McCarthy, who have been visiting Christchurch, being the guests of Mrs M. Hannan, returned last Evening.

Miss K. Waddell, who has been the guest of Mrs Shirlaw, Shakespeare Street, returned to her home in South Canterbury by this morning’s express.

Miss L. Cunliffe, who has been the guest of Mrs G. Schaef, Tainui Street, was a passenger for Christchurch on to-day’s express.

Mr. J. Murdoch, Secretary of the West Coast Lime Works, Ross, will leave for Canterbury and Otago on Tuesday;. A &’•

At yesterday’s meeting of the Tauranga County Council, Mr R. L. Pearless tendered his resignation as County Engineer, which was accepted with regret.

Recent arrivals at the Albion Hotel include: Mr and Mrs Ramsay (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs C. Jephson (Nelson), Miss Smith, Mr H. A. Hungerford (Christchurch), Mr Hickson (Wellington).

Mr P. Miller, Foreman of Works at Greymouth, left Christchurch this morning, on transfer as relieving foreman. He was farewelled by the Greymouth Railway staff, and presented with a handbag for himself and a handbag and rose bowl for Mrs Miller, the presentation being made by Mr T. Clarke.
