UNITED V. GREY. The return match between the United and Grey Clubs took place on Saturday in good weather. Both Clubs’ courts were used. United A’s won by 9 games and Grey B’s by 54 games The following are the results (the names of United players appearing first). United Club could not field a ladies’ B. team, and their ladies’ A. team played two short. A. TEAM. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss McKay lost to Miss Schaef, 4 —6; Miss McKay beat Miss Brown, 6—4; Miss O’Halloran lost to Miss Bignell 5 —6; Miss Carey lost to Miss Griffin 5—6; Miss Seddon lost to Miss Cunliffe 5 —6; Miss Seddon beat Miss Bush 6 —2. Men’s Singles.—Warnes heat. McCarthy 9 —2; McKay beat Dennehy 9—B; Jamieson beat Simpson 9 —4; Coulton lost to Kitchingham 6 —9; Phillips beat Turtill 9—6; Howes lost to McLeod 6 —9.
Ladies’ Double—Misses McKay and O’Halloran beat Misses Schaef and Brown 6 —l; Misses Carey and Seddon beat. Misses Bignell and Griffen 6—4.
