FRENCH LANDSLIDE

TWO TOWNS ENDANGERED (Au»tralian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ' PARIS, Nov. 24. Twenty people were killed and fifty houses were destroyed by a landslide at Roque Billiers, as the result of torrential rains. The adjacent village of Belvedere is threatened with annihilation owing to the adjacent mountain side slipping. LATER— A great wave of mud is now flowing near Belvedere and Roque Billiers, in the Alpes Maritimes region, and near the Baths of Berthemont, with their sulphur springs. The combined populations, numbering 3500, have evacuated both towns, after desperate efforts to stem the mud flow. Beneath the Belvedere, a great crevice has opened and the inhabitants of the smaller villages are preparing to evacuate them. The roads have been obliterated.
