A cablegram from Bucharest reports it is authoritatively stated that King Ferdinand, of Roumania, is in a serious condition,, and an operation is contemplated when Queen Marie returns from America.

Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., was recently advised by his doctor in Christchurch that the condition of his health required that he should have a complete rest for two or three months. Mr SulliVan, however, had arrangements in hand for a lecturing tour in the North of Auckland, on behalf of the Labour Party, and he -decided to carry out that undertaking first. He addressed a series of meetings, but at Dargarville the strain of continuous travelling and speaking showed its effect, and Mr Sullivan became indisposed . during the meeting. A medical man was called in, and he vetoed any further public meetings for the time being. Mr Sullivan is now recuperating in the north prior to returning to Christchurch.
