BURGLARY CHARGES
A TARANAKI HAUL. ’ (Pei- Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, October 22. The sensational burglaries of country siores winch had been disturbing Taranaki for months past, and which were cleared up, the police believe, when a raid was made on a farm near Opunake recently, where the police secured a big haul of loot, were further ventilated at Opunake when four men concerned were brought nefore the Court. In all there was a total of twenty-eight charges, twentytwo of being directly connected with th e burglary, while the other six concerned breaches of the Arms Act. Ambrose Folwer and Albert Graham were each committed for trial at next session of the Supreme Court at .hew Plymouth on nine separate charges of breaking and entering. William Folwer and Albert Folwer were committed for trial on charges or receiving stolen goods, whilst fur ther charges against the same two accused of receiving stolen goods, \the subject of summary charges, were also postponed. Ambrose Fowler admitted having had possession of an unregistered fivechambered revolver, which he said he carried for bluff. Sentence was also deferred. Charles Robertson, of Midhirst, was fined £1 in connection with the delivery of the revolver.
