Cossey, 40, chemist, living at • Mount Eden, was attacked by an un--5 known assailant while asleep at 2 {tin., and battered about the head and ’ body with a blunt instrument. His 1 wife was away. The police could find no trace of the assailant. Cossey was smothered with blood and very severely injured, but will survive.
