(To the Editor.) Sir, —I see by your paper that J. Muir, 68, won the old pioneers’ race at the,. Kumara Jubilee sports. I cannot understand how a man, who came to Arahura, years and years after the Coast was -well , settled, to work for 1 Malfroy, in whose employ he still is, cou'ld enter for such a race. I think that the first prize should have gone to the second man, and the second to the third man, for the other competitors were genuine pioneers. “Fair play is bonnie play.” Yours etc., OLD PIONEER’S SON.
