STATE COLLIERIES’ OUTING
The arrival of warmer weather has turned the thoughts of West Coasters towards the various picnic resorts of the district, and the outing season is rapidly getting into full swing. Several successful picnips have already been held. ... . , The State Collieries’ combined outing will be held at Hokitika on Saturday next. TSe Committee has arranged a sports programme for children, to commence on Cass Square at 1 p.m. The band will be in attendance, and picnickers' will be provided with tea, sugar, milk and hot water, free of charge. Special train arrangements (advertised in this issue) have been made. The train will stop at The Camp, Greymouth, Elmer Lane, Karoro, and Paroa. Fares are as follow: Adults 2/6; children, under 15 years of age 1/3. COBDEN SUNDAY SCHOOL The Cobden Gospel Hall Sunday School picnic will be held in the Cobden Domain on Saturday. Children are asked to assemble at 10 a.m., and to bring mugs with them. Everything else will be provided. Games and sports of all kinds will be held. Parents are invited to attend the picnic.
