(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln reply to “A Deal Fairer,” allow me briefly to state that I have no intention of following him through the maze of an interminable discussion 'on prices at Greymouth, from “men’s toilet wear” (whatever that may be) to crockery and glassware. I gave a specific instance, showing an enormous difference between Greymouth and Christchurch prices for a certain article, and,, although “Deal Fairer,” who evidently speaks for the retailers generally (he rises the term “we”), has contributed two lengthy letters in reply to mine, he has not, in my opinion, put up a defence in any way convincing. His vague ideas are. instanced .by his statement that he “thought” he commenced his letter by referring, to •my definite .question, while you, Mr Editor, contradict him. In conclusion, I will leave the decision to the consumers generally. Instead of blindly buying goods at Greymouth, I, for one, intend to make sure first that I am setting a FAIR DEAL.
