Miss M. Finnan lias returned to Greymouth, after a holiday trip io Timaru and Mt. Cook.
Messrs. A. Ashton, and W. McLeod, of Greyniouth, are inmates of the Grey Hospital, seriously -ill.
Mr Thomas Anderson, of Blaketown, was admitted to the Grey Hospital yesterday.
Mr and Mrs J. Steer, who have been visiting Dunedin, are expected back in Greymouth on Thursday.
Messrs Simeon and Davies, who are inmates of the Grey River H ospital, are reported to be making satisfactory progress.
Mr Adam Blair, manager for Messrs Stratford Blair and Co. Ltd., at Patara who has been indisposed, is making good recovery.
Miss F. 1. Broad, Shakespeare Street, ryho has been visiting the North Island, returned this afternoon.
. Dr. E. Dacre Dunn, of Westport, who has been visiting Dunedin, arrived by express this afternoon.
Mr N. B. McCallum left for Timaru and Dunedin this 'morning, and will return about December 10.
Mr W. Evans,' of the Greyniouth Telegraph staff, left off holiday this morning for Christchurch.
Miss M. McLean, Fairlie, Otago, is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. E. airman, Railway Terrace.
Mr J. W. Didi, railway stationmaster, at Reefton, is. on sick leave, and is being relieved by Mr G. JChambers.
Mils V. Virie and family, who have been visiting Mr and- Mrs G<. Ring, will leave Greymouth on Saturday for Christchurch, qn ,their, return, to San Francisco.

The death is announced: of Mr W. J. Napier, president of the Auckland branch' of the. Victoria League and member of 'Parliament lor Auckland city froip 1899 to, 1902; .
Mr M. McGilligan, snr., left on a trip to-day to Christchurch. This is the first occasion on which he has been away from the West Coast for forty-one years.
Mr A. F. Graham, of Invercargill, has been appointed Secretary of the Christchurch Branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association. There 20 applicants for the position.
A telegram has been received by the Mayor, Mr W. H. Parfitt, from the Governor-General, Sir Charles Ferguson, intimating that he will not arrive’in ■ Greymouth until December 18; instead of the day previous, as formerly announced.
Messis R. Bell, Catchpole, Kirkca.ldie, and Hogarth, directors of the Dobson. Collieries Ltd, accompanied by Mr W. Anderson, secretary, .arrived from Christchurch this afternoon.
Mr H. Mears, formerly of the Greymouth railway office staff, now located at Ashburton, who has been cf ll a holiday visit to the West Coast, returned to-day by express.

The death took place at Wellington yesterday of Mrs M. Mclnroe, an old West Coast pioneer. She was a native of' County Kerry, Ireland, and hail, resided, ini New Zealand for about sixty years. She lived for some years at ; Addison’s Flat, Westport, leaving there to go to Wellington, where she was the proprietress of the Britannia Hotel till about four years ago, when •advancing years rendered her retirement from business advisable. Her daughter, Miss Teresa Mclnroe, is a well-known soprano singer. Her sister, Mrs Fitzgerald resides at Goldsborough. Mrs Atkinson, of Hokitika, is a niece.
The wedding of. Mr Vernon Peters, of the Christchurch Post Office staff, to Miss Phyllis Dynes, niece of Mi' J. Guider, Turamaha Street, took place at St. Patrick’s Church this morning. NuptiaJ Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father' O’Regan. The bride, who wore a dress of cream georgette and hat to match,, was given away by her uncle, and was attended by her sister, Miss Kathleen Dynes, as bridesmaid, who wore violet' georgette. Mr J. ' Quinn was best man. - After- the ceremony, the wedding party was entertained at a breakfast, Father O’Regan presiding. Mr and Mrs Peters left for Christchurch by this mining’s express. Tire bride travelled in a dress of blue and white marocain, and a tight-fittJn" blue hat. ° ’ °
