OMOTO v. RUNANGA. The Omoto team met a Runanga eleven yesterday at Omoto when the latter won on the first innings by 56 runs, the scores being 41 to 97. OMOTO JUNIOIRS. - The United Juniors met the Omoto Juniors at the Recreation Ground yesterday and had an easy victory, the scores being United 211, Omoto 48. For the winners, Boddy (not out) scored 36, Alathews (retired) 30, Gibson 28, Chapman 25, Grooby 23, and Garbutt 22 were the principal scorers. The best scorer for the Omoto Juniors was Griffen (run out) 28, the other scoring being poor. For Omoto, Crighton took 1 for 41, Hennessy 3 for 88, Tilleyshort •2 for 47. WINGATUI. HAWERA, November 29. The delightful uncertainty of cricket manifested itself to-day in the Hawke Cun preliminary match between Taranaki and Wanganui. At the end of the first innings, the latter led by 142, the scores being: Taranaki 147, Wanganui 289. The chances of Taranaki making a stand to-day appeared remote. .During the night and early this .morning there was a heavy hailstorm.
