MINING CONFERENCE
SITTING AT GREYMOUTH. A conference between, representatives of West Coast mine owners and miners’ unions is being held. at Greymouth' this afternoon, to discuss various matters in connection with. the industry. The conference was originally timed to commence at 9 a. in., but owing to the. late arrival of the Millerton, Denniston and Stockton delegates, the opening was delayed until 1.30 p.m. In addition to the Buller district representatives, the following ' are attending the conference : Messrs Balderstone and Gibson (Blackball Miners Union), Connell (State Miners’ Union), Brown (mint: manager, Westport), Leitch (manager, Dobson), Parsonage (manager, Blackball), O’Donnell (manager, Roa), and Mr T O. Bishop (secretary of the Coal Owners’ Association).
