MR. MCNABB. '. (Own Correspondent) REEFTON, June 24. The pupils of Standards 3,4, 5. and 6, of the Reefton District High School assembled in the school’s main building last evening for the purpose o£ bidding good-bye to Mr. McNabb who has been a membei’ of the school staff for the last two years, and who is severing his connection with the school. He leaves for Southland on Monday next, he having been appointed head teacher of Forest Hill School near Invercargill. Misses Gwen McKane and Kathleen Tatley, on behalf of the pupils presented Mr.. McNabb with a solid leather suitcase and expressed the regret of the classes of which Mr. McNabb had been teacher, at his departure. I Mr. McNabb, who was received with loud cheers, thanked the donors for their useful present and stated he would always be pleased to hear of them in their future careers. . A bountiful supper was provided for by the young folk to Which full justice was done. After the National Anthem, the gathering dispersed with loud cheers for Mr. McNabb. At the Band Room at Reefton on Tuesday evening Mr. McNabb was the recipient of a handsome suit-case from the members of the Shop Assistants’ Football Club, of which he has been an active playing membei;. Messrs Barnett and Panckhurst eulogised Mr. McNabb’s services to the Club during his residence in the district, and wished him all success in his new abode.
