(By “Arlington.”) Nominations for all events in connection with the Kumara Racing Club’s Easter Meeting close at 10 o’clock to-morrow night. The Wellington Racing Club’s Autumn Meeting will open at Trentham to-merrow. Quest is reported to be showing lameness, and is a doubtful stai’ter in the Thompson Handicap to-jnorrow. Gloaming should add another £7OO to his banking account to-morrow. The Banker looks like being enrolled at the winner of this year’s St. Leger , Stakes. Tanadeos and Drolatique may be found leading the others home in the First Highweight Handicap. . Black Cat will nearly start favourite in the Plunket Nursery, with Oration second choice. Nothing reads better in the Thompson Handicap than Fool’s Paradise. The son of Absurd and Mascot should cover a great mile. If he is as good as report says, then the Potoa gelding Rafa should have a big say in the decision of the Railway , Handicap. Despite his weight, Piquant should have a say in the Tinokori Handicap, with Archeen most dangerous of the others.
The following riding engagements have been made for the Thompson Handicap. :—Suggestion (H Gray, if not required for Hipo), Civility (R. Reed), Glenross (J. Barry), Chandhu (M.
