Kuhn, a resident of Caulfield,, on returning home early in the evening, after a short absence, found a man in his bedroom. He closed with him. While the struggle was in progress a second man entered from another room revolver in hand, and fired a shot. The man, with whom Kuhn was struggling, released his hold and rushed outside. The second man, saying tnat he had shot his mate, ordered Kuhn to stand still, or he would shoot. He then rushed away. Both escaped. Patches of blood on the floor proved that the first intruder had been wounded. The house had been ransacked, but nothing was stolen.
