FIRST DAY’S RESULTS. WIN FOR BROWN LADY. - ; The. Greymouth Racing Carnival was opened tp-day by tjie first day’s gallops at Omoto. The Greymouth Jockey Club’t course was in excellent order. The lawns ' and appointments all spick and span, and every possible provision was made for the con-, venience of horseowners and the public The Municipal Band, under the conductorship of Mr A. McMaster, rendered an excellent programme df music during- the afternoon. The, catering was in the hands of Mrs F. Williams. The offiicals and stewards attended well to their respective duties.. Mr H. P. Olney is judge, and his assitant, Mr E. R. Moss. The starter is Mr A. ,G. Wood. The attendance is large, and the weather softened with a cooling breeze added much to the success of the day’s outing.; The
