E. Perkins,. (Secretary, of; the Greymouth Athletic and Cycling Club), when asked- this morning whether the rain had necessitated any alteration in the arrangements for the New Zealand Championship Meeting, set down, for to-day and Monday at Vic--, toria Park. “A postponement would : be impracticable,” added Mr. Perkins, “as we could not expect the visiting athletes to wait. It may be found necessary to re-arrange the programme, and hold over the bicycle races as long as possible, to give the track a chance of improving.” The meeting will be concluded on Monday, when the . programme will include most of the championship events.
