T. Jones represent- ’ ed to the mortgagee and the solicitors T for the property that he had been delegated by Captain Warren to re- ’ present him in the purchase, while C. E. Jones represented himself, as a nephew of Warren, and as prospective manager of the property. Subsequently the two accused signed documents for the purchase and transfer of the property in the name of Captain Warren. A failure to ) meet a promissory note for H5OO on due date led to disclosures, resulting in the present proceedings. j On behalf of Captain Warren it t was stated that he did not authorise : any documents for him. Josephine Riss gave evidence that during the year she had acted as housekeeper for Captain Warren, and J. T. Jones. The former never left [ the house but was in the same meni. tai condition as at present.
