Heavy frosts continue, and burst water pipes are the order of the' day, and the plumbers are having a busy time. The frosts are the heaviest experienced for many years. A service in memory of the late Mr Alfred Sherlock was held at the Methodist Church last evening. There was a very large congregation. The Rev W. B. Pickering preached a splendid service and referred sympathetically to the loss sustained by the death of so zealous a worker of the church. Tho service was made the more impres sive by tho hymns rendered by the choir.
Miss Maud Sherlock, who was called to Christchurch by the death of her father, returned by Thursday’s overlain! train.
